Joining Champion Education Trust provides a wide range of opportunities for your school. Our Multi Academy Trust is founded upon the premise that we champion every child to succeed, using our vast experience of supporting young people to raise their aspirations, achieve academic excellence and fulfil their potential in life.
In addition to raising attainment for all, we have particular expertise in supporting students from disadvantaged backgrounds; young people who have Special Educational Needs or Disabilities; and young people with Social, Emotional, Mental Health issues. We believe that everyone deserves a champion and that our Trust offers every learner a bespoke learning journey, excellence in teaching and learning and the nurturing of the whole person.
We pride ourselves on understanding the complexities of school context, the current educational climate and of creating a pathway for the individual to positively navigate their way to success.
School Improvement
Our mission is simple, we want ALL children to access world class education; exceptional care; high quality personal development opportunities and thus have raised aspirations to become dynamic, motivated members of their communities, society, the world.
Our ‘School Improvement’ model, is underpinned by respect for colleagues and enabling them to embed and harness their capacity for excellence. We work in partnership with schools to provide a range of peer to peer supports (such as peer reviews, self-evaluation, support with quality assurance and development plan implementation). We recognise and celebrate the talent of staff across schools and encourage them to formally share best practice MAT-wide. EVERY school has much to share and our Director of School Improvement leads on coaching, supporting, nurturing and sharing this talent.
There are a number of Specialist Leaders of Education within the Trust who are available to provide specific expertise on aspects such as: Teaching and Learning, English and Literacy, SEND, NQT/RQT development and much more.
School improvement is ongoing for all of us, we work together with our schools to improve progress and outcomes through providing clear frameworks that support a staged, focused and effective path to raising standards.

Teaching & Learning
We are a learning organisation and a forward thinking Trust, actively working with our local Teaching School Hubs and a network of professional bodies which enable staff to access the latest research and up to date professional information as well as an array of resources and training.
We believe that it is our job as a Trust to provide a climate for learning which enables teachers and support staff to engage students, foster a love of learning and accelerate progress.
We collaborate across schools, sharing expertise and best practice to enable constant review and improvement.
We provide teachers with bespoke T&L tools – ensuring teachers have autonomy to design personalised, creative learning sequences but providing high quality structures and resources across the curriculum for staff to use and to connect learning for our students.
We support our Leaders in developing a wide and fit for purpose curriculum for their students which will furnish learners with life skills and lead to higher education and meaningful employment.
Celebrating Diversity within the Trust Offer
We harness the expertise of specialist staff who are highly experienced in outstanding provision for EAL students and ensure that resources, strategies and coaching support are available across Trust schools to support students with EAL.
Our Disadvantaged Pupil Offer is a blueprint for schools to support every aspect of a child’s education through wraparound care in a format where schools can cherry pick ideas and resources to ensure Disadvantaged Pupils have full access to the curriculum and any barriers are reduced. Our success with Disadvantaged Pupils sees a continually reducing gap between them and their non disadvantaged peers because of the multi faceted provision on offer.
As a Trust with students from over 90 countries we have many staff dedicated to inclusion and celebration of diversity – resources which filter through the curriculum, through the pastoral systems and through the training of staff provide models for other schools to support cohesion and a family ethos.
Leadership Development and Support
We can offer extra leadership capacity through the Multi Academy Trust as well as enable leaders from schools to share and develop expertise together through regular peer reviews. There are designated professional development pathways which the Trust offers to Aspiring Middle and Senior Leaders which support the development of clear thinking, emotionally intelligent leaders with skills in leading all aspects of a department or school.
Champion Education Trust offers a range of professional frameworks to support school leaders in their school development: from curriculum development and quality assurance models to models for reporting to Governors and raising attainment of disadvantaged students.
Professional Development Pathways
All of our schools have access to bespoke professional development pathways. Each stage of career is supported by a course of training sessions and workplace activities to embed professional learning.
The CPD offer includes: Early Career Development Pathway, Expert Teacher Pathway, Aspiring Middle Leader Pathway, Aspiring Senior Leader Pathway. In addition to this we offer professional coaches, trained to support staff in reflecting on their practice and leading their own development to becoming more effective practitioners.
SEND and SEMH Specialist Support
Within the Trust we have excellent specialised provision for SEND and SEMH, this enables us to offer a wide range of supports to schools who want to further develop their practice in these areas. We also specialise in inclusion for students with SEND/SEMH within mainstream settings and can support schools in devising models and strategies for effective inclusion within their own context. Specialist trained staff also offer coaching and training in MAT schools.
Processes for assessing and meeting the needs of students are available and bespoke quality assurance reviews of these areas to inform development are also offered.
Model for Supporting Transition
The Trust Schools have a range of models for working collaboratively with our partners at Primary and in Further Education, this is to ensure that our schools develop an understanding of how to build a continuous, seamless curriculum from Key Stage 1 to 5 which builds on and accelerates progress.
Transition curriculum planning expertise and resources from within the Trust are available and we offer support with both planning and implementation.
Governance Development
Our Chief of Education brings a wealth of experience regarding Governance, and the Trust recognises the very varied individual needs of schools in different contexts, therefore we can provide structures and models which enhance how schools work with Governing Bodies to be accountable and to ensure Governing Bodies can use their valuable skills to impact on all aspects of school life.
Human Resources Management
The people who make up the family of Champion Education Trust schools are its most important and valuable asset and our HR Lead is available to give day to day advice and guidance as well as ensure bigger issues (such as TUPE) are well managed.
